Kaupthing Asset Management in Finland has appointed Ari Korhonen as its new director. Mr Korhonen joins the firm on 1 August from the €5.58bn Etera Mutual Pension Insurance company.
Mr Korhonen returns to the asset management industry after eight years as Etera’s chief investment officer.
“The eight years that I have spent as chief investment officer at Etera have been interesting and motivating time. However, I have decided to accept the new challenge offered by Kaupthing, which enables me to return to the asset management industry,” he told nrpn.
There have been also other changes in Kaupthing’s management in Finland. CEO Heikki Niemelä relocates to the firm’s headquarters in London and will be succeeded by Tommi Salunen. Pia Michelsson has been appointed as deputy chief executive of Kaupthing Bank. The bank has also appointed Pasi Mallat as senior portfolio specialist in its asset management operation.
